Protocol Index
This document collects
information concerning various communication protocols. The info is usually the
response to a request to implement the protocol on PCD systems. Each protocol
is qualified with a status as follow:
- No spec. Means that information has been requested about this protocol
but no specification are available.
- Not possible. The implementation is likely to be impossible for a PCD
or it needs a specific gateway (intermediate hardware component).
- Possible. The implementation of this protocol seams technically
possible. Further investigation may be required.
- On request. The implementation is possible and has been studied, or
even planed by Engiby. A driver can be realized or finalized on request.
In any case, don't hesitate
to contact Engiby if you have questions about any communication protocol and
implementation on PCD systems..
ModNET
Status: No spec.
Modnet
saems to be an old protocol used by AEG controllers.
Don’t confuse with Modbus wich is available by Engby.
OPTO 22
Status: On request.
The OPTO 22 or Optomux
protocol is a fieldbus protocol, with similar functionalities as Modbus or
S-Bus reduced protocol. On request, a driver can be developed by Engiby.
COMLI
Status: On request.
The COMLI is a fieldbus
protocol used in some PLC systems. It has similar functionality as Modbus or
S-Bus reduced protocol. On request, a driver can be developed by Engiby.
Status: On request.
Sema OIS for SMS
Status: Possible
The 'Sema OIS' protocol is
sepcified by SchlumbergSema. OIS stand for Open Interface Specification. It
seams that Vodafone is using this protocol to access SMSC for SMS delivery. The
protocol is designed to be used on X.25 or TCP/IP connection. For a PCD, it means :
- Impelementing it on TCP/IP for the F650 Module
- Implementing a X.25 procedure for a Modem (may be T813 or T850).
The implementation may be possible but need further investigation.
Bati-Bus
Status: Possible
Bati-Bus is a network
standard designed for Building control (Bâtiment-Bus). It is rather popular in
Note that Bati-Bus has now cooperated with EIB in the common communication
concept called KONNEX.
