This is a special edition to announce the issue of a new tool called NG-Dump.

The NG-Dump is a Windows program created to dump data from a SAIA-PCD system to a CSV-file in a very simple way.

The NG-Dump program is foreseen to run in background on a Windows system. At startup, the program load a description file with instructions about :

• which data to read (variable types and addresses)
• when to read the data (time interval)
• how to save the data (drive, folder, file name and new file period)

and much more working options

The NG-Dump supports several connection types :

• Internal driver in S-Bus Parity mode
• PG4 and PG5 communication driver, including
• RS 232 point to point
• RS 485 S-Bus
• PC 104 internal port
• Ethernet (with PG5 1.1 only)

No buffer handling is required in the PCD itself. No special programming is required in the PCD (except the serial port configuration).

The data are immediately stored in a CSV-file. At each new reading, the data are append to the file. New files are created every day, week, month or year or when the file reach a defined amount of records.

CSV files can be imported into many applications like MS-Access, MS-Excel or into SCADA systems for statistics, computing, trend display or reporting.

With this new solution Engiby is now able to give a response to a wide range of data acquisition applications. Three different tools are now available to offer the best solution according to your needs :

• NG-Dump for simple data dumping
• NG-Trace for flexible trace and trend data buffering
• NG-Data for large data collection from several external systems
