M-Bus – List of supported devices

The M-Bus standard does not ensure that any device can be read with a unique implementation. The procedure to read the device may vary, different data coding is used, the delivered data can be specifically configured in some devices and some data are even manufacturer specific. Therefore, apart some exceptions, tests and adaptations are necessary for each new device to be supported by the M-Bus driver.

For simple application and very standard devices, a set of Standard Fboxes has been created. If a standard Fbox is sufficient, no specific implementation is required. For heating and simple water counters, see the Generic Fboxes in the M-Bus General family. For electricity counters see the Standard Fboxes in the M-Bus Electricity family.

Note also that some devices from different manufacturers are similar. With a device specification Engiby can check if an existing Fbox can be used.

The following list, show the devices that have been successfully tested by Engiby or by integrators.
The Fbox to use has not been filled from the beginning and is therefore not completed and the info is not sure to be correct in all cases.

* Devices with pulse inputs can be generally configured as Pulse, Water or Gas counters.
st = Supported with a Standard or Generic Fbox
tu = Tested by user. The device has not been tested by Engiby but a user has reported positive result.
do = Based on documentation only. According to the manufacturer documentation, the device should work.
sa = Included in a free package distributed by Saia-Burgess.

On request, new devices can be tested and implemented. A test device should be put at disposal of Engiby with a documentation describing the M-Bus protocol implementation of the particular device. It is important that this device has the definitive configuration. The implementation is usually done within 2 weeks and the device is returned after positive feedback.
